Immunization Policy
Making decisions about your child’s health can feel overwhelming.
You want to do what’s best, and so do we.
Our goal is to ensure that your choices are based on accurate, evidence-based information, not fear or misinformation.
If you're overwhelmed by information you have seen online, please take some time to explore the links below.
If you have questions, please ask. There’s no such thing as a “bad” question when it comes to your child’s health.
At the end of the day, we’re on the same team. Our shared goal is to protect your child and our community.
We firmly believe in the effectiveness of vaccines for preventing serious and potentially deadly illness.
Vaccines save lives.
Vaccinating children may be the single most important thing you as a parent can do to protect your child's health.
In order to be a patient of our practice, we require that all children receive vaccinations.

In order to be a patient of our practice, we require that all children receive the set of vaccinations required for school entry in Maryland Public Schools, as listed below.
-
Hepatitis B
-
Tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (DTaP or DTP)
-
H. influenza B (HiB)
-
Polio
-
Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR)
-
Varicella
-
Pneumococcal (Prevnar)
-
Tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (Tdap)
-
Meningococcal
We also believe that all children and adults should receive the recommended vaccines according to the schedule published by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
However, we will work with parents on a case-by-case basis to space out vaccinations, within reason, should this be what you prefer for your children.
If you are choosing to space out vaccines: we require patients to begin vaccinations by 6 months of age, and we require that patients be caught up on their vaccinations by 18 months of age.
